DAM Consultants have been appointed to deliver full civil and structural engineering services for a landmark 36-unit, four-storey residential development in Wythenshawe, further strengthening the practice’s growing reputation in the delivery of complex apartment schemes.

From the outset, DAM Consultants were engaged to provide an end-to-end engineering solutions, from concept through to completion.

A key strength of the appointment is DAM Consultants’ in-house structural engineering capability, delivering complete foundation and superstructure designs for the apartment block. The structural scope includes the design of traditional masonry construction, precast concrete floors, beam and block ground floors, and timber roof structures, supported by a comprehensive structural calculation pack for Building Control approval.

Alongside the structural works, DAM Consultants led the civil engineering design from planning stage, preparing a detailed Flood Risk Assessment and SuDS strategy in line with NPPF guidance. This included early engagement with the Local Lead Flood Authority, Environment Agency, and water provider to agree compliant drainage solutions, discharge rates, and connection strategies. Concept and detailed civil designs were produced covering site levels, finished floor levels, attenuation, foul and surface water drainage, highways interfaces, and external works.

The wider scope also included highway dilapidation surveys, vehicle tracking analysis, site clearance and demolition plans, tree clearance strategies, and setting-out drawings to support both planning approval and construction delivery.

During the construction phase, DAM Consultants continue to support the project through technical design meetings, coordination with the wider consultant team, and the preparation of final as-built drawings, ensuring the completed development aligns with approved designs and adoption requirements.
